Chumbung is a small village in the district of West Sikkim. The village is primarily inhabited by the Bhutias. From here one can get a spectacular view of Mt. Khangchendzonga. You can also visit the Hilley Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary from here. Chumbung is dotted with a number of tourist attractions. The prime attraction of this village is Durpiney Dara which literally means telescopic hill. You can get a scenic view of the nearby places from here. Other attractions include Tanki Dara and Yesoltsoling Monastery.


How to Reach

You can reach New Jalpaiguri from Howrah or Sealdah or Kolkata by train. From there you can get car to reach Chumbung directly.


Some hotels and homestays are there for accommodation in Chumbung. You can also stay at Gangtok or Pelling.
