Siliguri

Siliguri is the door to the whole of North East India. Although Siliguri, itself is not a tourist destination but many tourists come here to spend some time. There is no major attraction in Siliguri. But still there are some places where one would like to go. One of them is the Hong Kong market. You can buy foreign goods from here. Science Gallery and Planetarium Science Centre is situated 6 km away. Sukana Forest is located 10 km away from the town of Siliguri. Another main attraction is the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. You can see tigers, leopards, Hyena, Sambhar, Chital and other species of deers and elephants.

How to Reach

You can reach New Jalpaiguri from Sealdah station by train. From there you can go to Siliguri (6 km). You can also reach Siliguri by bus from Kolkata (651 km). It takes about 11 hours by bus. You can also reach Bagdogra airport by aeroplane. Siliguri is 17 km from Bagdogra.
