Malda

Malda is one of the most famous tourist destinations of West Bengal. The city boasts of a rich heritage and has great historic importance. Gour, once the capital of Bengal is situated in Malda district. Gour and Pandua located at the two ends of the city of Malda are the prime attractions for the tourists. You can hire a car from Rathbari More Taxistand in order to visit Gour and Pandua. Car charges around Rs. 1500-1800. Gour is 17 km from Malda. The attractions are Piyasbari, Ramkeli Madanmohan Temple, Barduari, Dakhil Darwaza, Firozminar, Lukochuri Gate, Gumti Darwaza, Chika Masjid and Chamkati Masjid. A large mango garden can be seen here. Pandua is located 20 km from Malda. Adina Masjid is the main attraction of Pandua. Other attractions include Eklakhi Masjid, Salami Darwaza etc.

How to Reach

Trains are running from Sealdah, Howrah and Kolkata to Malda Town. It takes 8 hours to reach Malda from Kolkata. Apart from this Malda bound buses are available from Esplanade Bus Terminus in Kolkata.
