Deul

Deul is a picturesque weekend destination in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Nestled on the banks of Ajoy River, the place is surrounded by the dense Garh forest of Durgapur. The name of the place has been derived from the historic Ichhai Ghosh-er Deul. The word 'Deul' means temple. This age-old temple is worth seeing. A large garden named Deul Park has come up behind the temple. The park houses various kinds of seasonal flowers and is well decorated. There is a lake at one end of the park. You can go for boating in the lake. The peace and calm environment of Deul makes it perfect for picnic during the winter season. The historic site where Icchai Ghosh was defeated in a war with Lausen is also located nearby.
