Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar is a heritage destination situated in North Bengal. It currently serves as the district headquarters of the Cooch Behar district. The prime attraction of Cooch Behar is the Rajbari (King's Palace). Constructed by the famous Koch king Maharaja Nripendranarayan, the palace now serves as a museum developed by the Archaeological Survey of India. The Rajbari remains open on all days except Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Other attractions include Madanmohan Temple, Baradebi Bari, Madhupur Dham, Baneswar Shiva Temple and Kamteswari Temple. Rasikbil is located 46 km from the town of Cooch Behar. It is a paradise for bird lovers with thousands of migratory birds visiting the lake every year during winter.

How to Reach

Trains are running from Sealdah to New Cooch Behar. You can also reach Cooch Behar from Alipurduar by bus. Buses are also plying from Kolkata and Siliguri to Cooch Behar.
