Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary

Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Munger district of Bihar. Situated at the foothills of Mahadev hill, this wildlife sanctuary covers an area of 681 sq. km. The forest of Bhimbandh hosts abundant Sal, Mahua, Shimul, Haritaki, Amlaki, Arjuna and other trees. The Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary is home to animals like leopard, tiger, sambhar, bear, bison, chital, wolf etc. Apart from these there are numerous birds in the forest. There are hotsprings adjacent to the wildlife Sanctuary. The waters of the hotsprings have a temperature of around 52°-62°C. The place is ideal as a weekend destination but still it is not much popular among tourists. There are several attractions near Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary including the Kumari Falls, Rameshwar Kund and Kharagpur Lake.

How to Reach

You can reach Bariarpur station from Howrah by train. BSRTC buses are plying from the local bus stand to Kharagpur. Jeeps are available from Kharagpur to reach Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary, 30 km from there.
