Bunkulung

Bunkulung is a picturesque Himalayan village situated at a distance of 15 km from Mirik in West Bengal. Bunkulung is surrounded by majestic hills and cascading rivers. Nestled in the lap of nature, the village is mostly inhabited by the Limbus of Gorkha community. The lush green meadows, outstretching paddy fields, scores of ponds and mesmerizing greenery make the place immensely beautiful. The Balasun and Murmah Khola rivers flow by the side of this hamlet. There are 19 ponds of pisciculture project which add to the beauty of the location. The nearby tea gardens and factories are worth a visit. You may also visit the town of Mirik which hosts the famous Sumendu Lake. Adventure lovers can go for a short trek to the nearby villages.

Trains are running from Sealdah and Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri. Siliguri is close to New Jalpaiguri. Bunkulung is 48 km from Siliguri. Hired cars are available from Siliguri to reach Bunkulung.

Purbasthali

Purbasthali is a small town in Burdwan district of West Bengal. It is located at a distance of 120 km from Kolkata and 145 km from Howrah. The place is also known as Chupir Chor and is a paradise for bird watchers. The prime attraction of Purbasthali is the beautiful oxbow lake created by the River Ganga. There is boating facility in the lake. Various species of birds such as Lesser Whistling-duck, Red-crested Pochard, Kingfisher, Osprey, Little Cormorant, Great Egret and Spoon Bill are sighted in this lake. How to Reach

You can reach Purbasthali from Howrah and Sealdah by Katwa Local. Purbasthali Lake is 3 km from Purbasthali station. Van rickshaws are plying from the station to the lake. If you want to drive to Purbasthali, then take NH34 and reach Nabadwip via Krishnanagar. Purbasthali is 8 km from Nabadwip and is easily accessible via Parulia More.

Deulghata

Hatibari

Hatibari is an amazing weekend destination located on the borders of the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. The place is surrounded by small hills and lush greenery.
