Bethuadahari

Bethuadahari is a calm, serene and peaceful forest situated in Nadia district in the state of West Bengal. A wildlife sanctuary has come up at Bethuadahari which spans over an area of 165 acres. Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary is actually a deer park. Inside the forest you will see innocent deers grazing on the lush green grounds. More than 500 deers inhabit this forest. Other animals which are found in Bethuadahari include wild cats, peacocks, snakes and various species of birds. It is the perfect destination to spend your weekend. You can also visit Palashi, 24 km from here. The battle of Plassey was fought between Siraj Ud Daulah and Robert Clive at the grounds of Palashi. Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary remains open from 8 am to 4 pm.

How to Reach

Trains  are running from Kolkata station to Bethuadahari. It takes approximately two and a half hours to reach Bethuadahari from Kolkata. From there you can take a rickshaw ride to get to the sanctuary. You can also board a Berhampur bound bus from Kolkata to reach Bethuadahari.
